    Description

    Concepts of abnormal psychology and introduction to the practice of psychiatric and mental health nursing for individuals, families, and groups in various settings. Emphasizes self-understanding in the student and focuses on therapeutic communication within the nurse client relationship. Commonly ccurring mental health disorders such as addictive behaviors and personality and mood disorders. Clinical practice experience is facilitated in traditional and non-traditional care settings. Prereq: Admission to Nursing program and NUR 401, 402, 411 and 412.
