Description
Study the implementation of health care programs across the globe. Issues of human culture and regionalism are addressed in the context
of modern international concerns relating to the spread of disease. The role of HIV/AIDS as a catalyst for a grassroots approach to
health care will be explored, as well as the role played by national and global politics, including the war on poverty. A selection of world
cultures will be examined in the context of disease, poverty, social policy, and warfare. Clinical experience in third world and urban
settings. Prereq: Admission to Nursing program and NUR 311.
