Description

Nursing theory focused on community and population-based health care. Exploration of health education, disaster preparedness, environmental health, epidemiology and health care policy within a systems-based practice approach. Application of the scientific nursing process on communities and populations, emphasizing health promotion, risk reduction, and disease prevention across the lifespan. Emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration, communication, and quality improvement measures. Prereq: NUR 200 and admission to the nursing program.
