Description
This course provides introduces the basic issues surrounding substance use and abuse addressing both legal and illicit drugs. Grounded in Scripture, students are introduced to the theory and research related to the biopsychosocial perspective explaining substance use in contemporary society, including a historical perspective, drug metabolism, drug action/classification, legal issues, reasons for abuse, and drug abuse prevention strategies. Prereq: PSY 210.
