Description
This course is designed as the second of two introductory courses to the American adversarial system of law. Students will continue to hone their skills gained in the Fall semester course, as well as be introduced to additional material. Specific emphasis will be placed on the following not addressed in the fall course: preparing an opening statement and closing argument, creating and using demonstratives, the role of pre-trial matters and conferences, and a more in-depth review of the Federal Rules of Evidence as well as Wisconsin State Rules of Evidence. Students will also participate in at least on actual competition such as the national intercollegiate mock trial tournament. Prereq: POL 275
