Description
The course covers the basic elements, rules of building and analyzing medical words, and medical terms, and abbreviations associated with the body as a whole. Utilizing a systems approach, the student will define, interpret, and pronounce medical terms relating to structure and function, pathology, diagnosis, clinical procedures, oncology, and pharmacology. In addition, the course includes in-depth applications of the medical terms learned. Course is taught simultaneously with BIO 223 with an additional 50-minute/week meeting time. BIO 223 and BIO 323 cannot both be taken for credit. Prereq: One of BIO 201, 202, 225, or 255.
